FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...BUCHANAN COUNTY
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER BUCHANAN COUNTY HAVE DUMPED VERY HEAVY RAIN
DURING THE PAST HOUR. AUTOMATED RAIN GAGES AND DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR
PRECIPITATION ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT UP TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN IN THE LAST 30 MINUTES TO ONE HOUR NEAR GRUNDY AND ALSO
IN EXTREME NORTHERN BUCHANAN COUNTY.
 
THE STORMS WERE DRIFTING VERY SLOWLY SOUTHEAST AND HEAVY RAIN IS LIKELY
TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT ONE TO TWO HOURS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN OF 1 TO
3 INCHES MAY FALL IN THE NEXT TWO HOURS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALtLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. WATCH OUT FOR MUD SLIDES.
