THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN WEST WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...LINCOLN COUNTY
 
AT 500 AM...CHARLESTON RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING
ACROSS WESTERN LINCOLN AND EASTERN WAYNE COUNTIES. THESE STORMS HAVE
PRODUCED 1 TO 1.25 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST HOUR. WITH THE NEARLY SATU
TGROUND ACROSS THE AREA...THIS IS ENOUGH RAINFALL TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING
FCREEKS AND STREAMS.  THESE STORMS WILL SLOWLY MOVE EAST PRODUCING HEAVY
RAINFALL ACROSS MUCH OF THE COUNTY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRYR TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
