FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

AT 605 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A POSSIBLE TORNADO OVER WESTERN
PERSON COUNTY NEAR ROSEVILLE. THE STORM WAS MOVING RAPIDLY NORTHEAST AT
40 MPH. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVER NORTH CAROLINA THIS AFTERNOON
AND TONIGHT...

A STRONG COLD FRONT OVER THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL MOVE EAST THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.  STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM
WILL RETURN WARM...MOIST AIR TO THE OLD NORTH STATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT.  AS A RESULT...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP OVER THE STATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.  THE COMBINATION
OF AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE AND STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS COULD CAUSE SOME
STORMS TO BECOME SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  THE
GREATEST THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER IS OVER THE WESTERN THIRD OF THE
STATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.  OVER THE EASTERN TWO-THIRDS OF THE
STATE...SEVERE WEATHER IS POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THE
NIGHT TONIGHT.

PERSONS IN NORTH CAROLINA SHOULD MONITOR THIS SITUATION CLOSELY AND

AT 330 PM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE'S DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER NORTHWEST RANDOLPH COUNTY. THE STORM WAS MOVING
TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH AND WILL LIKELY TO PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS
TO 35 MPH ...VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS ...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. THIS STORM
WILL BE ENTERING INTO SOUTHERN GUILFORD COUNTY BY 400 PM.

SHOULD THREATENING WEATHER APPROACH TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY. STAY TUNED
