WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
MOVING INTO WESTERN WILSON COUNTY. NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH
THESE STORMS BUT RADAR WAS INDICATING THE POTENTIAL FOR WIND GUSTS IN
EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
 
THE LINE OF STORMS WAS MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH AND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY
TORRENTIAL RAIN AND FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
 
DOWNBURST WINDS FROM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN SOMETIMES REACH 100
MPH.  A POWERFUL DOWNBURST CAN BE AS BAD AS A TORNADO.  THESE WINDS
DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES...OVERTURN MOBILE HOMES...AND DAMAGE
BUILDINGS. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND REPORT DAMAGES PROMPTLY TO

MONTGOMERY COUNTY...THROUGH MOORE...LEE...EASTERN CHATHAM AND WAKE
COUNTIES.

THE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR.
THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY DOW^NPOURS
AND DANGEROUS LIGHTING. THE HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO RESULT IN SOME URBAN
FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.
