AZZ007-040300- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...CORRECTED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ 600 PM MST SUN SEP 3 1995 AT 545 PM DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER FAR SOUTHWEST ARIZONA. MOST OF THE STORMS WERE ON THE ARIZONA SIDE OF THE COLORADO RIVER...BETWEEN YUMA AND BLYTHE. MOVEMENT WAS GENERALLY TOWARD THE NORTHWEST AROUND 10 MPH. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORM IN THIS CLUSTER WAS ALONG U.S. ROUTE 95...NEAR THE CUTOFF TO MARTINEZ LAKE. MOTORISTS AND BOATERS WILL NEED TO USE CAUTION FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO DUE TO HEAVY RAIN...LIGHTNING...AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR BOATERS...ON MARTINEZ LAKE AND THE COLORADO RIVER...TO SEEK SHELTER UNTIL THE STORMS MOVE AWAY FROM THE AREA. AND MOTORISTS SHOULD WATCH FOR FLOODED ROADWAY DIPS...AS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ALONG THIS PORTION OF U.S. 95. PERFREMENT
