FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PENDLETON OR
350 AM PDT THU MAY 11 1995
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PENDLETON HAS EXPANDED THE
FLASH FLOOD WARNING IN CENTRAL MORROW COUNTY TO INCLUDE BALM FORK SOUTH
OF HEPPNER.  THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR HINTON CREEK HAS NOW BEEN
EXTENDED UNTIL 845 AM PDT.
 
AT 3:30 AM MORROW COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORTED WATER 6 TO 8 INCHES DEEP ON
BALM FORK ROAD FOUR TO FIVE MILES SOUTH OF HEPPNER. THIS WAS DUE TO
HEAVY RUN OFF FEEDING INTO BALM FORK. OFFICIALS ON SITE REPORTED
THAT RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
