PARTS OF SOUTHEASTERN NEW YORK AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY...

A MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR MASS REMAINS IN PLACE OVER THE REGION AT
THIS TIME. MEANWHILE A COLD FRONT CONTINUES TO APPROACH FROM THE
WEST. THIS COLD FRONT WILL BE THE TRIGGERING MECHANISM FOR SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS  SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE SEVERE PRODUCING
STRONG WINDS IN EXCESS OF 57 MPH...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...HEAVY RAIN
AND POSSIBLY SOME HAIL.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS SHOWING AN AREA OF SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM NORTHERN NEW YORK SOUTHWESTWARD TO
CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. THE LINE WAS MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH.
