THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  615 PM EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY
 
   ...UNION COUNTY
 
A THUNDERSTORM OVER CENTRAL UNION COUNTY IS PRODUCING RAINFALL AT THE
RATE OF 3 TO 5 INCHES PER HOUR. A SPOTTER IN ELIZABETH REPORTED 3/4
INCHES IN 15 MINUTES. THE STORM IS SLOW MOVING AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL
AROUND 6:00 PM. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES UP TO 1.5 INCHES HAS FALLEN AS
OF 5 PM AND AMOUNTS MAY REACH 3 INCHES BY 6 PM. WATER IS ALREADY AT CURB
LEVEL IN SOME LOCATIONS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
