000 TTAA00 KMHX 020819 TORMHX NCC095-020900- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEWPORT NC 416 AM EDT TUE MAY 2 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEWPORT HAS ISSUED A TORNADO AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...HYDE COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A TORNADO OVER EASTERN BEAUFORT COUNTY BETWEEN PAMLICO BEACH AND SOUTH CREEK. THE TORNADO WAS MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH AND WILL BE MOVING INTO BEULAH AND SWANQUARTER BY 430 AM. THE TORNADO WILL BE OVER THE NORTHERN PAMLICO SOUND AROUND 5 AM. DAMAGING WINDS TO 60 MPH AND GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED TTHIS STORM. JME THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION. ACT QUICKLY. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE. AVOID WINDOWS. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...VERY HEAVY RAINFALL...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL AS IT PASSES ACROSS GREENE COUNTY AND INTO PITT COUNTY AFTER 3 AM.
