...THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS NORTHWESTERN SECTIONS OF THE SOUTH
   PLAINS...

AT 712 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE NORTHWESTERN SOUTH PLAINS
FROM BAILEY COUNTY TO EXTREME NORTHERN LAMB COUNTY.  THE STRONGEST
STORM WAS LOCATED 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MULESHOE IN BAILEY COUNTY
WITH ANOTHER DEVELOPING STORM JUST NORTH OF SPRINGLAKE IN LAMB COUNTY.
MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

ANOTHER STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS OCCURRING IN EASTERN NEW MEXICO
AROUND 25 MILES SOUTH OF PORTALES.  THIS THUNDERSTORM WILL BE
MOVING INTO SOUTHWESTERN BAILEY COUNTY BY 745 PM CDT AND AFFECTING
THE COMMUNITIES OF GOODLAND AND MAPLE.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE
STRONGER STORMS WITH SMALL HAIL ALSO A POSSIBILITY.

REMEMBER...LIGHTNING MAY STRIKE SOME MILES AWAY FROM THE PARENT
CLOUD. TAKE PRECAUTIONS EVEN THOUGH THE THUNDERSTORM IS NOT DIRECTLY
OVERHEAD.
