000 TTAA00 KLBB 150749 FFWLBB TXC501-151045- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 245 AM CDT TUE AUG 15 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHWEST TEXAS ...YOAKUM COUNTY ...A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR YOAKUM COUNTY UNTIL 600 AM CDT... AT 245 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE OCCURRING OVER YOAKUM COUNTY OF THE SOUTHWEST SOUTH PLAINS. MOVEMENT OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WAS NORTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS YOAKUM COUNTY DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS PRODUCING ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN. A THUNDERSTORM EARLIER TODAY PRODUCED OVER 1 INCH OF RAIN IN DENVER CITY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OVER ALREADY RAIN SATURATED GROUND HAD LED TO PONDING OF WATER ON MANY ROADWAYS ACROSS YOAKUM COUNTY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2-4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS WHICH WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS THIS MORNING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
