CENTRAL LOUISIANA THIS AFTERNOON...

TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 90S THIS AFTERNOON COMBINED WITH HIGH LEVELS OF
HUMIDITY WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS HEAT INDEX VALUES. HEAT INDICES ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON WHICH WILL PROVIDE SOME
RELIEF FROM THE OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS.

PEOPLE WORKING OUTDOORS...THOSE LIVING IN PLACES WITH LITTLE
VENTILLATION...AND THOSE IN POOR HEALTH SHOULD TAKE PRECAUTIONS AS
PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THESE CONDITIONS MAY LEAD TO HEAT EXHAUSTION
