FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA
 
   ...LOWNDES COUNTY
 
AT 1245 AM EDT...EMERGENCY OFFICIALS IN LOWNDES COUNTY REPORTED FLOODING
OF A FEW MAJOR ROADS AND NUMEROUS SECONDARY ROADS IN AND NEAR THE TOWN
OF VALDOSTA.  NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED RAINFALL
ESTIMATES IN EXCESS OF THREE INCHES SINCE 9 PM OVER THIS AREA.
 
SOME OF THE MAJOR ROADS REPORTED TO BE FLOODED INCLUDE N. ASHLEY STREET
AND OAK STREET EXTENSION.  FLOODING WAS ALSO REPORTED ON SEVERAL
SECONDARY ROADS LEADING TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
