...ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY OVER MISSISSIPPI...

A VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS HAS SETTLED IN OVER MISSISSIPPI. SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP OVER THE STATE BY LATE MORNING
INTO EARLY AFTERNOON AND A FEW MAY REACH SEVERE LIMITS THIS
AFTERNOON. CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI APPEARS TO BE THE MOST UNSTABLE
AREA... BUT AN APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE COULD HELP
TRIGGER ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE IN THE
STATE TODAY. THE THREAT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD DECREASE
IN THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE BY EARLY TONIGHT BUT COULD
CONTINUE IN THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS.

ACTIVATION OF CIVIL DEFENSE...HAM AND SPOTTER NETWORKS MAY BE
NECESSARY OVER PORTIONS OF MISSISSIPPI TODAY...
