SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MISSISSIPPI
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME
SEVERE...ESPECIALLY IN WESTERN AND NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE STATE. A
SLOW MOVING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL COMBINE WITH THE MOIST AND
UNSTABLE AIRMASS IN PLACE TO PRODUCE THE THREAT FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS.

IT APPEARS AS THOUGH DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS AND LARGE HAIL WILL
BE THE MAIN TYPE OF SEVERE WEATHER ENCOUNTERED WITH THE STRONGER
STORMS...HOWEVER THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES ALSO EXISTS.

CIVIL DEFENSE...HAM AND SPOTTER A&CTIVATION FOR WEATHER WILL LIKELY BE
REQUIRED FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
