000 TTAA00 KILN 100452 FFWILN OHC145-100900- BULLETIN FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH 1249 AM EDT THU AUG 10 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STRAMS EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH OHIO ...SCIOTO COUNTY AT 1250 AM EDT...WILMINGTON WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS EASTERN SCIOTO COUNTY. DOPPLER RADAR PRECIPITATION ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT BETWEEN 2.00 AND 2.50 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS EASTERN SCIOTO COUNTY FROM SOUTH WEBSTER TO FRANKLIN FURNACE. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED NUMEROUS ROADS WERE WATER COVERED AND NEAR IMPASSIBLE. HIGH WATER WAS REPORTED ACROSS STATE ROUTE 140 WITH SEVERAL CARS STALLED ON THIS HIGHWAY DUE TO THE HIGH WATER. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...BRINGING MORE HEAVY RAINS...WILL PERSIST ACROSS EASTERN SCIOTO COUNTY THROUGH 330 AM. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED... ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
