THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY ACROSS ALL OF
SOUTHEAST TEXAS.  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF HOUSTON...BRYAN/COLLEGE
STATION...CROCKETT...HUNTSVILLE...LIVINGSTON...JASPER...GALVESTON AND
BEAUMONT.

A WARM...MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS ALONG WITH A WEAK SURFACE
BOUNDARY NEAR A BEAUMONT TO HOUSTON TO SAN ANTONIO LINE WILL INTERACT
WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE TODAY TO PRODUCE SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION...SOME OF WHICH COULD BECOME SEVERE.

THE GREATEST CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EARLY EVENING HOURS DURING THE MAXIMUM HEATING PERIOD OF THE DAY.
THE MAIN THREAT WITH THESE STORMS WILL BE DAMAGING DOWNBURST WINDS
AND POSSIBLY LARGE HAIL.

IN ADDITION TO SEVERE WEATHER...THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE STRONGER
STORMS COULD LEAD TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS.  RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS
WILL AVERAGE AROUND 1/2 INCH WITH ISOLATED TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
POSSIBLE...THE HEAVIER AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY BE NEAR THE COAST.
