924 PM EDT THU JUL 6 1995

AT 915 PM EDT DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW AN AREA OF SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS IN EASTERN RUTHERFORD COUNTY BETWEEN LOGAN AND
CAROLEEN. THIS AREA HAS BEEN STATIONARY FOR THE PAST TWO HOURS BUT IS
NOW SHOWING AN EASTWARD MOVEMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. RADAR RAINFALL
ESTIMATES OF NEAR ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR HAVE BEEN CONSISTENT OVER THE
PAST TWO HOURS.

RESIDENTS IN LOW LYING SECTIONS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS AND DRIVE ACCORDINGLY. SMALLER CREEKS AND
STREAMS MAY BRIEFLY RISE OUT OF THEIR BANKS IN SOME OF THE LOWER AREAS.

AT 1000 PM EDT WEATHER RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AROUND
MOORESVILLE IN SOUTHERN IREDELL COUNTY SOUTH TO AROUND DAVIDSON
IN NORTHERN MECKLENBURG COUNTY. ANOTHER THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED
AROUND SHELBY IN CLEVELAND COUNTY.

THE THUNDERSTORM WERE MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST AT AROUND 20 MPH.
THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING INTO NORTHERN CABARRUS COUNTY
AROUND 1030 PM.

EVERYONE IN THE PATH OF THE THUNDERSTORMS CAN EXPECT PERIODS OF
