THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE SPARTANBURG HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  300 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WEST NORTH CAROLINA

   ...TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY

RAINFALL REPORTS FROM TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY INDICATE THAT OVER FIVE
INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN A TWELVE HOUR PERIOD ENDING THIS MORNING.
SEVERAL ROADS MAY BE FLOODED WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR IN SOUTHERN AND
WESTERN PARTS OF THE COUNTY. ALTHOUGH THE FRENCH BROAD RIVER WAS
STILL BELOW FLOOD STAGE AT 9 AM...IT HAD RISEN FOUR AND A HALF FEET
SINCE YESTERDAY. HEAVY RAIN IS FORECAST TO FALL OVER THE AREA
TODAY AND TONIGHT...AND WITH THE GROUND BECOMING SATURATED...
MUCH OF THIS RAIN WILL RUNOFF INTO STREAMS AND RIVERS.

MOTORISTS IN TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY ARE URGED TO EXERCISE EXTREME
CAUTION WHEN DRIVING. BE ALERT FOR WATER ON THE ROAD...AND DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERD ROADS.
