THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SIOUX FALLS HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHWEST IOWA
 
   ...EASTERN DICKINSON COUNTY
 
THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE COMMUNITIES OF MILFORD...WEST
OKOBOJI...OKOBOJI...SPIRIT LAKE...AND SUPERIOR.
 
AT 840 PM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR THE
COMMUNITY OF MILFORD OR 15 MILES NORTH OF SPENCER. BY 910 PM THE STORM
SHOULD AFFECT SUPERIOR. MOVEMENT OF THE STORM WAS TO THE EAST AT 30
MILES AN HOUR.
 
AT 835 PM WINDS FROM 60 TO 70 MILES AN HOUR WERE REPORTED 7 MILES
NORTH OF SPENCER.
 
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...YOU SHOULD GET TO A
REINFORCED SHELTER. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCES WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH...HAIL 3/4 INCH OR LARGER...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND HEAVY
RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA.
