THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  545 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...BASTROP COUNTY...FAYETTE COUNTY
 
AT 440 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR WEST
POINT. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHWEST AT 15 MPH AND WILL ENTER
SMITHVILLE IN THE NEXT 15 MINUTES AND INTO BASTROP IN 30 MINUTES. THE
STORM PRODUCED MARBLE SIZE HAIL IN SCHULENBURG.
 
PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE POSSIBILITY
OF LARGE HAIL AND WINDS GREATER THAN 60 MPH.  FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND
LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN OCCUR WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM.
 
THIS IS A SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM AND IT MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF
SMALL STREAMS...LOW AREAS...ANDD LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
