EXTREME EASTERN KANSAS AND WESTERN MISSOURI THIS MORNING AND THEN SHIFT
INTO CENTRAL MISSOURI THIS AFTERNOON. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE
CENTER...THE HEART OF THIS WEEKS STORMY WEATHER...WAS OVER CENTRAL
KANSAS. THIS FEATURE WILL MOVE INTO WESTERN MISSOURI LATER THIS MORNING
...THEN WEAKEN AS IT TRACKS EAST INTO SOUTHERN ILLINOIS BY FRIDAY
MORNING.

DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING
SOUTHWARD FROM THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE KANSAS CITY METRO AREA
INTO SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI. AS THIS BAND OF STORMS
MOVES TO THE NORTHEAST BRIEF PERIODS OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ARE
POSSIBLE. RADAR ESTIMATES UP TO HALF AN INCH OF RAIN MAY FALL IN AN
HOUR. THE AIRMASS OVER THE OUTLOOK AREA REMAINS QUITE MOIST BUT IT HAS
BECOME MORE STABLE. THIS MINIMIZES THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER...THUS
NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT.

THE RAIN SHOULD COME TO END LATER THIS AFTERNOON...ENDING FROM WEST TO
EAST.
