THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES IA/IL HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

   ...HANCOCK COUNTY...MC DONOUGH COUNTY

AT 203 AM CDT... DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAD
FALLEN ALONG AND SOUTH OF ROUTE 136 SINCE 11PM YESTERDAY EVENING. THIS
RAIN IS IN ADDITION TO THE TWO TO FIVE INCHES OF PRECIPITATION THAT
ACCUMULATED TUESDAY EVENING AND EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING OVER THESE SAME
AREAS. MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO FALL OVER THE WARNED
AREA THROUGH 8AM... WITH ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN ONE AND TWO
INCHES LIKELY.

THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED WITH WATERWAYS RUNNING AT OR ABOVE
FLOOD STAGE FROM THE PREVIOUS HEAVY RAIN EPISODE TUESDAY EVENING AND
EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN EARLY TODAY WILL
LEAD TO SUDDEN FLOODING OF CREEKS... SMALL STREAMS... ROADS AND LOW
LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS.

DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS... ESPECIALLY IF WATER IS FLOWING
RAPIDLY. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES. FLOODED ROADS
MAY BE ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. DO NOT ENTER FLOODED
BASEMENTS UNLESS THE POWER IS SHUT OFF.
