THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN  OHIO
 
   ...HOLMES COUNTY...MORROW COUNTY
 
AT 3 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN FALLING ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL OHIO. DOPPLER RADAR
RAINFALL ESTIMATES INDICATED THAT 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN OVER
NORTHERN PARTS OF MORROW AND HOLMES COUNTY IN THE LAST 24 HOURS. STREAMS
WERE REPORTED NEAR BANKFULL IN THESE AREAS...AND SOME ROADS WERE
STARTING TO COVER WITH WATER.
 
RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WITH EMBEDDED
THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST
OHIO MOVING NORTHEAST TOWARD THE WARNED AREAS. THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
WILL LIKELY CAUSE STREAMS TO GO INTO FLOOD WITH ADDTIONAL ROAD AND
STREET FLOODING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
