THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN  GEORGIA

   ...CHATHAM COUNTY

HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS MUCH OF CHATHAM COUNTY SINCE WEDNESDAY 
MORNING WITH TOTAL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES. MINOR FLOODING HAS BEEN 
REPORTED IN MANY AREAS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES OR 
MORE ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT...RESULTING IN MORE SERIOUS FLOODING.

THE HIGHEST POTENTIAL PROBLEMS WILL BE IN COMMUNITIES NEAR THE
IMMEDIATE COAST AND IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE...ESPECIALLY URBAN 
STREETS PRONE TO FLOODING. STREET FLOODING IN SAVANNAH HAS BEEN 
REPORTED TO BE 3 TO 4 FEET DEEP IN SOME LOW-LYING PLACES. 

IN ADDITION SOME SHALLOW COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED WITH HIGH TIDE 
THIS EVENING. THE TIDE LEVELS MAY CREATE TEMPORARY FLOODING OF COASTAL 
ROADWAYS. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
