IN NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT ...HARTFORD COUNTY AT 450 PM...RADAR INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM THAT MAY BE PRODUCING LARGE HAIL NEAR SIMSBURY IN NORTHWEST HARTFORD COUNTY. A DISTURBANCE APPROACHING FROM NEW YORK...AFTERNOON SUNSHINE...AND A WARM UNSTABLE AIR MASS OVER NEW ENGLAND WILL COMBINE TO CREATE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING OVER SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE 1 INCH DIAMETER HAIL. A FEW STORMS COULD PRODUCE 60 MILE AN HOUR WIND GUSTS.
