THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  200 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA
 
   ...TUSCALOOSA COUNTY
 
AT 1254 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS INDICATED A BAND OF
SEVERE THUDNERSTORMS FROM NEAR NEW LEXINGTON...TO ECHOLA AREA. THE
STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. WITH PRESENT SPEED AND
DIRECTION OF MOVEMENT THE STORMS WILL AFFECT THE WINDAM SPRINGS AND
TUSCALOOSA AREAS IN THE NEXT 20 TO 30 MINTUES.
 
THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DON'T USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE NSTORM
