THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY  HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN EAST NEW YORK
 
   ...SOUTHERN SCHOHARIE COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAIN HAS BEEN FALLING OVER THIS AREA SINCE LATE THIS AFTERNOON.  3
TO 3.5 INCHES HAS FALLEN AT JEFFERSON AND WEATHER RADAR INDICATES THAT
AS MUCH AS 4 TO 5 INCHES MAY HAVE FALLEN OVER EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN
SCHOHARIE COUNTY.
 
THE MINEKILL CREEK IS AT BANKFULL AND IN SEVERAL SPOTS IT HAS EXCEEDED
ITS BANKS.  ONE HOME NEAR JEFFERSON HAD ITS CELLAR FLOODED.
 
MORE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING BACK INTO THIS AREA AND EVEN MORE
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
