THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1030 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN THE CENTRAL PART OF SOUTH DAKOTA
WESTERN JONES...SOUTHWEST STANLEY
AT ITS PRESENT RATE OF MOVEMENT...THIS STORM IS FORECAST TO AFFECT
THE COMMUNITY OF HAYES BY 1015 PM CDT.
AT 945 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 40 MILES WEST
OF MURDO MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOU.
AT 945 PM CDT...75 MPH WIND WAS REPORTED NEAR THE SOUTHWEST CORNER
OF JONES COUNTY.
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...YOU SHOULD GET TO A REINFORCED
SHELTER. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 55 MPH...3/4 INCH HAIL OR LARGER...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY
HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE
FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY
