THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
 
   ...MCCURTAIN COUNTY
 
AT 200 AM CDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN SHREVEPORT SHOWED
A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...ABOUT 90 MILES WIDE...THAT
EXTENDED FROM NEAR CAMDEN ARKANSAS ACROSS TOM OKLAHOMA TO NEAR BONHAM
TEXAS. WITHIN THIS AREA THUNDERSTORMS THAT WERE PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS
TO 40 MPH...PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING WERE IN A
10 MILE WIDE BAND THAT EXTENDED FROM SOUTH OF FULTON ARKANSAS TO
WINTHROP ARKANSAS ALSO SOUTHEAST OF GILLHAM ARKANSAS.
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO SPREAD ACROSS THE SAME
GENERAL AREA AND WITH ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS EXPECTED FLOODING
IS LIKELY IN THE WARNED AREA IN RESPONSE TO A ONE TO THREE INCH
RAIN.
 
MOVEMENT OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS EAST SOUTHEAST NEAR
30 MILES AN HOUR.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
