...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHERN ORANGE COUNTY HAS
EXPIRED....

AT 250PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER
NORTHEAST PIEDMONT....STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED IN
DURHAM...GRANVILLE...AND VANCE COUNTIES. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST
AROUND 25 MPH.

ANOTHER AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN FRANKLIN AND
JOHNSTON COUNTIES.

PEOPLE IN PATH OF THESE STORMS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR STRONG GUSTY
WINDS...HEAVY RAIN...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND THE POSSIBILITY OF SMALL
HAIL. IF A STORM THREATENS...SEEK SAFE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.

300 PM EDT MON JUL 25 1994

...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE AROUND BURLINGTON
   IN THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT OF NC...

AT 255 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED MORE THUNDERSTORMS WITH
VERY HEAVY RAIN DEVELOPING AROUND BURLINGTON..MOSTLY IN CENTRAL ALAMANCE
COUNTY.  A FEW OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ALONG THE GUILFORD
AND RANDOLPH COUNTY LINE BETWEEN GREENSBORO AND ASHEBORO.  STORMS WERE
ALSO DEVELOPING IN THE SOUTHERN PIEDMONT JUST SOUTH OF IREDELL AND ROWAN
COUNTIES.  THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 MPH.

ALONG WITH THE VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS..THE STRONGER STORMS THIS AFTERNOON
MAY PRODUCE FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING..STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL.

PERSONS IN THE NORTHWEST PIEDMONT AROUND THESE STORMS SHOULD BE ON THE
LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND SHOULD TAKE SHELTER
IF STORMS APPROACH OR DEVELOP IN YOUR AREA.
