THUNDERSTORMS MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...

AT 210 PM CDT...PADUCAH RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MOVING
ACROSS SOUTHERN ILLINOIS FROM NEAR JONESBORO ILLINOIS IN UNION COUNTY
NORTHEAST THROUGH MARION AND WEST FRANKFORT TO JUST EAST OF MT. VERNON
ILLINOIS IN JEFFERSON COUNTY.

IN CHECKING WITH THE CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTORS OF UNION AND FRANKLIN
COUNTIES...VERY HEAVY RAIN...FREQUENT DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING...AND GUSTY WINDS TO NEAR 40 MILES AN HOUR SEEM COMMON WITH
THESE THUNDERSTORMS. AS OF 210 PM CDT NO SEVERE WEATHER HAD BEEN
REPORTED WITH THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS THAT IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST
AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.

A NEW TORNADO WATCH...NUMBER 169...HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A LARGE PORTION
OF SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS AND WESTERN KENTUCKY UNTIL 800 PM CDT. THIS LINE
OF STRONG STORMS LIES WITHIN THIS TORNADO WATCH AREA. STAY ALERT TO FAST
CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. SHOULD SEVERE WEATHER THREATEN YOUR AREA BE
PREPARED TO SEEK SAFE INDOOR SHELTER. REPORT ANY SEVERE WEATHER TO YOUR
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AND ASK THAT YOUR REPORT BE RELAYED ON TO
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

AS OF 200 PM CDT...THE TORNADO WATCH THAT WAS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI HAS EXPIRED. SOUTHEAST MISSOURI IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW
TORNADO WATCH THAT IS POSTED FOR SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS AND WESTERN
KENTUCKY UNTIL 800 PM CDT.

AT 310 PM CDT...PADUCAH RADAR INDICATED SHOWERS AND SOME WIDELY
SCATTERED THUNDERSHOWERS IN AN AREA 35 MILES WIDE EXTENDING FROM 50
MILES NORTH OF PADUCAH KENTUCKY TO 70 MILES NORTH OF EVVANSVILLE
INDIANA.  THE PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES
AN HOUR.

AS OF 310 PM CDT NO SEVERE WEATHER HAD BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS.

TORNADO WATCH...NUMBER 169...REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR  A LARGE PORTION OF
SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS AND WESTERN KENTUCKY UNTIL 800 PM CDT.

AT 315 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM JUST NORTHEAST
OF LIVERMORE KENTUCKY...10 MILES SOUTHEAST OF OWENSBORO.

THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND WILL LIKELY PRODUCE
SOME SMALL HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS. THE STORM
WILL MOVE THROUHG NORTHERN OHIO COUNTY AND INTO HANCOCK COUNTY NEAR
THE OHIO RIVER BY 345 PM CDT.

IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES YOUR AREA BE PREPARED TO TAKE COVER.
