THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  555 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY
 
   ...SOUTHERN WARREN COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING
HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLY STRONG WINDS. THIS STORM WAS NEAR
BANGOR IN NORTHHAMPTON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA. IT WAS MOVING
SLOWLY SOUTHEAST INTO SOUTHERN WARREN COUNTY BETWEEN INTERSTATE 80 AND
RTE. 78. THIS CLUSTER OF STORMS WAS ALSO PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES IN
EXCESS OF 1 INCH PER HOUR AND BECAUSE OF ITS SLOW MOVEMENT WILL PRODUCE
LOCALIZED FLOODING.
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. , DON'T USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM
HAS PASSED.  MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
