AT 500 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN TUPELO INDICATED
AN ISOLATED STRONG THUNDERSTORM IN CENTRAL CLAY COUNTY. THIS STORM
APPEARS TO BE WEAKENING...BUT MAY STILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY
HEAVY RAIN...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.

WEAKER THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAD BEGUN TO FORM ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER IN EXTREME NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI.

ELSEWHERE...SCATTERED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PERSISTED IN SOUTHERN
TENNESSEE AND NORTHWEST ALABAMA.

THESE STORMS WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY TO THE NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10
MPH...THEREFORE AREAS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING
COULD PRODUCE EXTENDED PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN.

AT 600 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN TUPELO INDICATED
WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NORTH MISSISSIPPI. THE
STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED IN WESTERN ALCORN COUNTY AND WESTERN
DESOTO COUNTY. THOSE TWO STORMS MAY BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING STRONG GUSTY
WINDS IN EXCESS OF 35 MILES AN HOUR AND HAIL...AS WELL AS DANGEROUS
LIGHTNING AND EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN.

MORE EXTENSIVE STRONG THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY CURRENTLY FURTHER NORTH
ACROSS MUCH OF WEST TENNESSEE.

THESE STORMS WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH...CREATING
LOCALLY EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WHERE THUNDERSTORMS DO OCCUR.
