TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE......
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO
 
   ...CENTRAL EDDY COUNTY
 
AT 740 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTOM WAS CENTERED 20 NORTHWEST OF
CARLSBAD NEW MEXICO. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS ABOUT 5 MILES IN
DIAMETER AND IS MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH.  A FUNNEL CLOUD WAS SPOTTED
BY A DEPUTY SHERIFF IN THE STORM/S WALL CLOUD AT 740 PM.
 
THE STORM CONTAINING THIS FUNNEL CLOUD IS HEADED TOWARDS THE
LAKEWOOD AND SEVEN RIVERS AREA.  PEOPLE IN THESE COMMUNITIES
SHOULD TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE
IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF
AVAILABLE.  OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST
FLOOR POSSIBLE.  ALVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES
FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
