RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF RAIN WITH A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS FROM ALEXANDRIA TO EAST OF LAKE CHARLES. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE BETWEEN LAKE CHARLES AND VILLE PLATTE MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH. THESE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED WIND GUSTS OVER 55 MPH AT LAKE CHARLES. PEOPLE IN AVOYELLES AND ST LANDRY SHOULD BE ALERT AND READY FOR QUICK ACTION IF SEVERE WEATHER IS SIGHTED. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF STREETS...UNDERPASSES AND LOW LYING AREAS.
