THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORFOLK HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHEAST NEBRASKA
 
   ...NORTHERN ANTELOPE COUNTY...SOUTHERN KNOX COUNTY
   ...NORTHERN PIERCE COUNTY
 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER SOUTHERN KNOX
AND THE EXTREME NORTHERN PORTIONS OF ANTELOPE AND PIERCE COUNTIES. BOTH
CREIGHTON AND WAUSA HAVE REPORTED FROM 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN IN ABOUT AN
HOURS TIME. THIS COULD CAUSE SOME SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IN THE WARNED
AREA THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS...ESPECIALLY SOUTHERN KNOX COUNTY.
 
IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE
FLOOD WATERS.  DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER
BEGINS RISING.  BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER
TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING.
 
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND..A FLASH FLOOD WARNING
MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...
DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO
CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
