NCZ013-030-029-014-501-292230- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CAPE HATTERAS NC 430 PM EDT WED JUN 29 1994 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA UNTIL 1000 PM EDT... ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IN EFFECT FOR PITT COUNTY UNTIL 500 PM EDT... AT 430 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA FROM JUST WEST OF DUCK ON THE OUTER BANKS TO 25 MILES EAST OF FAYETTEVILLE. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GREENVILLE MOVING NORTHEAST AT NEARLY 40 MILES AN HOUR. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL HAVE SOME SMALL HAIL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTING AND HEAVY RAINS WHICH MAY CAUSE URBAN STREET FLOODING. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DONT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
