COZ090>092-052300- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS 354 PM MDT WED OCT 5 1994 ...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR CHEYENNE...KIT CARSON AND YUMA COUNTIES OF EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST COLORADO UNTIL 10 PM MDT... AT 350 PM MDT GOODLAND DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES NO SEVERE WEATHER OVER OUR COUNTY WARNING AREA. ALTHOUGH RADAR DOES INDICATE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER PARTS OF EASTERN COLORADO EXTENDING 20 MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM COLORADO SPRINGS SOUTH TO THE NEW MEXICO BORDER. AT THIS TIME THEY ARE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 TO 35 MPH AND SHOULD BE MOVING INTO OUR WARNING AREA BY 6 PM MDT. DO NOT USE YOUR CAR TO OUTRUN A TORNADO. CARS AR"E EASILY TOSSED AROUND BY TORNADO WINDS. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...LEAVE THE CAR AND GO TO A STRONG BUILDING.
