THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT FOR THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF NORTH TEXAS.

THE AREA AT RISK IS GENERALLY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM WICHITA FALLS...TO
DENTON...TO TYLER...AND WEST OF A LINE FROM TYLER TO CENTERVILLE.

ABILENE...GRAHAM...BROWNWOOD...WACO...CORSICANA...STEPHENVILLE...
FAIRFIELD...BELTON...AND THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX ARE SOME
OF THE CITIES IN THE SLIGHT RISK AREA.

EARLY THIS AFTERNOON THE AIRMASS OVER NORTH TEXAS WAS UNSTABLE
AND RICH WITH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE.  AN EAST-WEST STATIONARY FRONT
WAS NEAR A MIDLAND...WACO...LUFKIN LINE.

STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS ABOVE THE SURFACE WILL BE FORCED ABOVE THE
FRONTAL BOUNDARY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...CAUSING
THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP.  AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY FROM EARLY MORNING
THUNDERSTORMS WAS FROM ABILENE...TO MINERAL WELLS...TO HENRIETTA.
THIS WILL BE ANOTHER AREA OF PREFERRED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT.

IN THE UPPER LEVELS...A LOW PRESSURE CENTER WAS OVER SOUTHEAST
ARIZONA...CAUSING A DIFFLUENT WIND PATTERN OVER NORTHWEST TEXAS.
THIS TOO...WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT.

THE MAIN THREAT FROM THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE LARGE
HAIL AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  DAMAGING WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE...AND
THERE WILL BE ENOUGH TURNING THROUGH THE VERTICAL WIND PROFILE TO
SUPPORT ISOLATED TORNADOES.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS AND STORM SPOTTERS ACROSS THE
SLIGHT RISK AREA SHOULD BE READY FOR POSSIBLE ACTIVATION THIS
