THIS AFTERNOON IS TRIGGERING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT THE
REGION. THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AT 2 PM EXTENDED FROM
NEAR DUBOIS SOUTHWARD TO GETTYSBURG. THE RAIN IS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30
TO 50 MPH AND WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
BY EVENING.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAINS ARE COMBINING WITH STORM DRAINS
CLOGGED BY FALLEN FOLIAGE TO CAUSE LOCAL DRAINAGE PROBLEMS AROUND
THE REGION. BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL ACCOMPANY SOME OF THE SHOWERS

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR
MUCH OF SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA VALID UNTIL 8PM EST. AT MID AFTERNOON
A STRONG COLD FRONT WAS MOVING THROUGH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA TRIGGERING
HEAVY SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY
PRODUCE BRIEFLY DAMAGING WINDS AS WELL AS LARGE HAIL AS THEY PROGRESS
THROUGH THE SOUTHEASTERN PART OF THE STATE.

THE COLD FRONT WILL MOVE OFF SHORE DURING THE EARLY EVENING HOURS AND
WILL BRING SHARPLY COOLER TEMPERATURES INTO THE REGION AS WELL AS AN
EVENTUAL END TO THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT.
