COZ039-040-082240- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER CO 340 PM MDT MON AUG 08 1994 AT 335 PM MDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM SOUTHWEST GILPIN COUNTY TO SOUTH CENTRAL JEFFERSON COUNTY...OR 22 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DENVER. THESE STORMS HAVE SHOWN IN INCREASE IN INTENSITY DRING THE PAST 10 MINUTES. MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...SMALL HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS AS THEY PAST OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE DENVER METRO AREA BETWEEN 345 AND 430 PM MDT. SOME STREET FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE... ALONG WITH FLOODING OF DITCHES AND UNDERPASSES. DRIVERS SHOULD AVOID THESE AREAS AND DO NOT CROSS FLOODED ROADS AS THEY MAY BE WASHED OUT. BAKER
