CANCELLED...

THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER HAS DIMINISHED ACROSS NORTHEAST
PENNSYLVANIA...AND THE TORNADO WATCH FOR LUZERNE COUNTY HAS BEEN

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BINGHAMTON NY
101 AM EDT THU AUG 18 1994

ABUNDANT MOISTURE FROM THE REMAINS OF TROPICAL STORM BERYL WILL
CONTINUE TO BRING HEAVY RAIN TO CENTRAL NEW YORK AND PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA OVERNIGHT.

RADAR ESTIMATES AND CO-OPERATIVE OBSERVERS INDICATE BETWEEN .75 AND
1.50 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN OVER THE REGION WITH LIGHTER AMOUNTS
OVER THE WESTERN MOHAWK VALLEY AND EASTERN FINGER LAKES.  THE RAIN SO
FAR HAS BEEN HEAVIEST OVER THE CENTRAL SOUTHERN TIER WHERE BETWEEN 1
AND 1.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS STEUBEN COUNTY.

THE RAIN WILL CONTINUE STEADILY OVERNIGHT ACROSS THE FINGER LAKES AND
MOHAWK VALLEY....WHERE ANOTHER INCH OF RAIN MAY FALL.  IT WILL BECOME
INTERMITANT ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA REGION OF NEW YORK AND NORTHEAST
PENNSYLVANIA.

THE HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE SOME POOR DRAINAGE AND STREET FLOODING
OVERNIGHT.  STREAMS AND CREEKS WILL EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT RISES BUT
SHOULD REMAIN IN THEIR BANKS.
