THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING   EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 AM CDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN THE TEXAS PANHANDLE
 
   ...SOUTHERN CASTRO COUNTY...SOUTHERN PARMER COUNTY
 
AT 943 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES INDICATED THAT FLOODING
WAS CONTINUING IN SOUTHERN CASTRO AND PARMER COUNTIES. HIGHWAY 145 FROM
FARWELL TO SUNNYSIDE AND FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1055 SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 86
REMAIN FLOODED. ALSO NUMEROUS FARM TO MARKET ROADS ACROSS SOUTHERN
PARMER COUNTY HAVE WATER COVERING THE ROADWAYS. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW OCCASIONAL MODERATE RAIN ACROSS THESE
AREAS. THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING TO CONTINUE.
 
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR AT NIGHT. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT
NIGHT SINCE IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS.
USE CAUTION IN AND AROUND STREAMS...CREEKS OR DRAINAGE DITCHES.
TAKE THE SHORTEST PATH TO REACH HIGHER GROUND...BUT DO NOT DRIVE
THROUGH RISING WATER.
