THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY  HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  415 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN CENTRAL NEW YORK
 
   ...HERKIMER COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED TWO SEVERE THUNDERSTOPMS
APPROACHING HERKMIER COUNTY. THE FIRST SEVERE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST
AT 40 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE INTO NORTHWESTERN HERKIMER COUNTY NEAR
ATWELL AT 335 PM. THE STORM WILL MOVE TO 10 MILES NORTH OF NOBLEBORO AT
350 PM AND APPROACH THE HAMILTON COUNTY LINE AROUND 410 PM. THE SECOND
SEVERE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE INTO
SOUTHWESTERN HERKIMER COUNTY BETWEEN POLAND AND FRANKFORT CENTER AROUND
400 PM.
 
THE STORMS HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS 
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.  IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND
DEADLY LIGHTNING.  PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...
PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
