A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE COUNTIES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE MISSOURI RIVER IN NORTHCENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA ON TUESDAY. THE COUNTIES INCLUDE CORSON...CAMPBELL...DEWEY...WALWORTH AND POTTER. SOME COMMUNITIES INCLUDED IN THIS WATCH ARE MOBRIDGE...MCINTOSH...TIMBER LAKE...GETTYSBURG SELBY AND MOUND CITY. A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL MOVE NORTHEAST TONIGHT AND TUESDAY. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BECOME MIXED WITH SNOW TONIGHT AND CHANCE TO SNOW TONIGHT AND TUESDAY. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 INCHES OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE. STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED AT 25 TO 40 MPH WHICH MAY CAUSE NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ALONG WITH WIND CHILL READINGS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. > RESIDENTS AND THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE READzY FOR THE ADVERSE WINTER WEATHER.
