THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON ARIZONA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 PM MST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA

   ...SOUTHEASTERN PIMA COUNTY...SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA

   ...WESTERN COCHISE COUNTY

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF ARIZONA TODAY.
RAIN HAS BEEN FALLING THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT IN SANTA CRUZ AND WESTERN
COCHISE COUNTY.  AT ABOUT 8 AM THIS MORNING SANTA CRUZ SHERIFF DEPUTIES
REPORTED ALL WASHES RUNNING HEAVY WITH WATER.  ROAD CLOSURES WERE TAKING
PLACE IN WESTERN COCHISE COUNTY AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTY AS OF 830 THIS
MORNING DUE TO HEAVY RUNNOFF IN WASHES AND ACROSS ROADWAYS.

RAIN IN THE ARIVACA AREA HAS TOTALED 1 AND 1/3 INCHES DURING THE PAST 12
HOURS...AND RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE ENTIRE WARNING AREA
FOR THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS.  ADDITIONALLY...THUNDERSTORMS CAN BE
EXPECTED AT ANY TIME TODAY WITH HEAVY SHOWERS AND HAIL.  MARBLE SIZE
HAIL HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED IN THE ELGIN AREA IN NORTHEAST SANTA CRUZ
COUNTY THIS MORNING.

THIS WARNING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TUCSON METROPOLITAN AREA BUT DOES
INCLUDE THE SANTA RITA MOUNTAINS AND GREATERVILLE AREA IN SOUTHEAST PIMA
COUNTY.

REMEMBER THE ENTIRE STATE IS UNDER A FLOOD AND FLASH FLOOD WATCH TODAY.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
