KSZ013>16-240225- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPEKA KS 825 PM CDT FRI JUL 23 1993 ...WIDELY SCATTERED...VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE TO THE NORTH AND NORTHEAST OF MARYSVILLE... AT 820 PM A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS ABOUT 25 MILES NORTHEAST OF MARYSVILLE OR ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF SENECA. RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINS WERE POSSIBLE FROM THIS STORM ALONG WITH WIND GUSTS OF 35 TO 45 MPH AND FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. ANOTHER DEVELOPING STORM WAS TO THE NORTH OF MARYSVILLE ALONG THE BORDER. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST ABOUT 20 MPH AND COULD MOVE INTO THE SABETHA VICINITY SHORTLY BU AROUND 9 PM. BECAUSE OF THE SATURATED GROUNDS ANY RAINS WILL QUICKLY GO TO RUNOFF THUS PERSONS TRAVELLING OVER THE NORTHERN TIER OF COUNTIES THROUGH ABOUT 10 PM SHOULD BE ALERT FOR WATER OVER RAODWAYS. FRANTZ
