KSZ007-008-010-011-121845- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONCORDIA KS 1254 PM CDT MON APR 12 1993 AT 1250 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A 20 MILE WIDE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT EXTENDED TO THE SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH OF SALINA NEAR DELPHOS TO 10 MILES NORTH OF TOPEKA. THE STRONGEST STORMS WITHIN THIS AREA WERE LOCATED 15 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF SALINA JUST EAST OF BENNINGTON AND 20 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF SALINA JUST NORTH OF ABILENE AND WERE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING BRIEF HEAVY RAINS AND PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL AS THEY MOVED TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR. ANOTHER BROAD AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF A LINE FROM FAIRBURY NEBRASKA TO 25 MILES SOUTH OF PHILLIPSBURG NEAR STOCKTON. THESE STORMS WERE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING MODERATE SHOWERS AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL AS THEY MOVE TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. PACKETT
