...AN EARLY SPRING STORM WILL BE TAKING AIM ON KANSAS BY TUESDAY...

AN EARLY SPRING STORM CAPABLE OF BOTH HEAVY SNOW AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
WILL BE THREATENING KANSAS BY TUESDAY. THE STORM IS CURRENTLY OVER SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA AND WON`T BE MOVING INTO THE SOUTHWESTERN STATES UNTIL
MONDAY. A COLD HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BEGIN TO PLUNGE SOUTH OVER THE
HIGH PLAINS MONDAY NIGHT. AT THE SAME TIME A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
BEGIN TO DEVELOP OVER THE TEXAS PANHANDLE. COLD WET SNOW COULD OVERSPREAD
THE HIGH PLAINS OF KANSAS LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY AS NORTH WINDS
INCREASE. THIS CHANGE TO COLD WET WEATHER WILL BE ESPECIALLY HAZARDOUS
TO YOUNG LIVESTOCK.

AT THE SAME TIME...THUNDERSTORMS COULD ERUPT OVER THE EASTERN PLAINS.
SOME OF THE STORMS MAY BE STRONG.

PLEASE KEEP UPDATED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS

...THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING OVER OVER PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTHCENTRAL
KANSAS...

AT 550 AM CST RADAR INDICATED A 70 MILE WIDE AREA OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS
EXTENDING WEST OF A LINE FROM PHILLIPSBURG TO RUSSELL TO 25 MILES SOUTHEAST
OF GREAT BEND.  THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF RUSSELL.
THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS AROUND 40 MPH AND PEA SIZE HAIL CAN BE EXPECTED FROM
THESE STORMS.  IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS SEEK SHELTER UNTIL THE
STORMS PASS.

SOUTHWEST OF HUTCHINSON.  THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED 15 MILES EAST OF
GREAT BEND OR 5 MILES EAST OF ELLINWOOD.
